THE KOCH STORY

Koch Concepts LLC is a small family business owned and operated by Ben Koch out of Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

Ben is a career engineer with a heart for helping people improve their spaces and be confident about their design choices. Growing up in Sabetha, Kansas, he spent his younger years watching and on occasion helping his father renovate their home, their neighbor’s home, and seemingly every other home or business in Sabetha. His father was an evening handyman working all across town and it gave Ben the opportunity to dabble with design for many small renovations. Though the designs were functional in floorplan, the software and renders were rudimentary.

While loving the idea of being an architect, the nature of a small manufacturing town drove him down an engineering route but he “never lost his dinosaur”. He kept the architectural design software and desire to help friends and family and continued slowly honing his skills in his free time.

Like many, COVID had Ben locked indoors and looking for creative outlets and this was the perfect time to take on design opportunities. In 2022 Ben was working to develop a new coffee shop in downtown Bloomfield, Iowa when the owner asked “why haven’t you built a business around this?” Driven to help people improve their homes and businesses, Ben took to the computer and started building the foundation for the business. His abilities spread through word of mouth and before he knew it nearly 100 successful design projects had come and gone!

Ben, his wife Kiley, and their two growing boys reside in Lee’s Summit but provide design services across the Midwest with the intent to keep spreading their ideas across the US.
